Biography
Born June 28, 1945,
Morgantown, West Virginia.
Spent childhood in Massachusetts,
exploring it's woods, lakes and rivers, building
small boats and twig huts.
Attended Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida
from 1963 to 1966.
Became a documentary photographer in 1966,
documenting U.S. Army activities in Vietnam,
Korea and Thailand.
Entered the world of advertising in 1970
as an art director. Created many ads, commercials
and campaigns, winning numerous awards.
In 1984 my wife and I designed a 37-foot sailboat,
which was built in the orient,
we then cruised from Maine to the Bahamas,
living aboard for two years.
Dropped anchor and moved full time into
our Ancram, New York home, thus returning to the woods.
My long time love of creating from natural materials
became my art.
Since then, I have been creating, displaying and selling
works inspired by the rustic tradition,
with the evolution of the frame
as my art form.
